If we have not met yet, my name is Colin. I want to start off by simply saying thank you. Simply being here on this page shows your interest in what I am doing and what is going on behind the scenes here at Westwood Design Studio. I started this studio because I had the realization most people will never work with an Architect. And this is not because they don’t want to but rather because it is a large financial investment out of reach for most people.

I wanted to create another avenue to give more people access to high quality house plans, designed by an Architect and crafted to provide long lasting value. I focus on the texture of local materials, the way light enters a room through well-placed windows, and how the details of the floor plan can enhance your life in small ways. Our philosophy is simple: We design better, not just bigger.

This blog isn’t meant to be a portfolio but rather a look at the overall design process. You can expect to see:
